The process of accommodation involves altering one's existing schemas, or ideas, as a result of new information or new experiences. New schemas will be developed in an attempt to understand a new situation.
Accommodation does not just take place in children; adults also experience this as well. When experiences introduce new information or information that conflicts with existing schemas, you must accommodate this new learning in order to ensure that what's inside your head conforms to what's outside in the real world.

This video contains a variety of mistakes in spelling and debasing phrases like 'I guess he was French,' which reduces faith in the presenter. His example seems to be a good overview of the basics of assimilation vs accommodation. These errors give a good example of his assimilation of information into his pre-concieved schema regarding spelling and people with foreign-sounding names as opposed to accommodating the correct information. How do his errors affect your attitude towards the information presented? Are you more willing to discard his lecture or more attentive to the information being put forward to prove your knowledge? How do your feelings affect your ability to assimilate or accommodate the information?
